Abstract: We present a measurement of the electroweak production cross section of a W boson in association with two jets events in pp collisions at √s= 8 TeV. The analyzed dataset corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 19.3 fb−1 collected by the CMS detector at the LHC. The measured value of the cross section in the fiducial region for electroweak production of W (W →ℓν, with ℓ=e,μ)+2 jets is 0.42 ± 0.04 (stat.) ± 0.09 (syst.) ± 0.01 (lumi.) pb, which is consistent with the standard model prediction of 0.50 ± 0.02 (scale) ± 0.02 (PDF) pb obtained by MADGRAPH interfaced to PYTHIA 6. | ||
