Measurement of the Z/gamma*+jets/photon+jets cross section ratio in pp collisions at sqrt(s)=8 TeV
Abstract: We present a measurement of the cross section and ratios of the cross sections of Z/γ plus jets and photon plus jets events in proton-proton collisions, as a function of the vector boson transverse momentum. The data were collected with the CMS detector at s=8 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 19.7 fb1. The measurement is performed for vector bosons that have a transverse momentum larger than pT>100 GeV, and for different jet multiplicities. Comparisons between the data and predictions from several QCD calculations are also presented for the vector boson transverse momenta for the photon and for the Z separately, in different jet multiplicities. We also examine ratios between the transverse momentum for Z/γ plus jets and hadronic quantities.
