Search for a doubly-charged Higgs boson with s= 8 TeV pp collisions at the CMS experiment
Abstract: A search for doubly-charged Higgs boson in proton-proton collisions at s= 8 TeV is presented. The data corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 19.7 fb1, collected by the CMS experiment at the LHC. The search considers leptonic final states with three or four electrons or muons which probe the associated production of Φ±±Φ and Drell-Yan pair production of Φ++Φ. No excess over Standard Model background expectations is observed and upper limits at the 95% confidence level are placed on the cross sections times branching ratio. Lower bounds on the doubly-charged Higgs boson mass are reported for a variety of assumptions on its branching ratio to charged lepton pairs.
