Abstract:
A search for the production of the Higgs boson in association with a single top quark is performed using the decay $H \to b \bar b$. The rate for this Higgs production mode is particularly sensitive to the relative sign of the Higgs boson coupling to fermions and bosons. The full 2012 CMS dataset of pp collisions at a center of mass energy of 8 TeV is used. The analysis is optimized for a model with the Yukawa coupling of the Higgs boson to the top quark $y_t = -1$, and an upper limit of 7.62 times the rate expected for this anomalous signal is observed, with an expected sensitivity of 5.22.
