Abstract:
A search is presented for pair-produced second-generation scalar leptoquarks, using 19.6 fb−1 of data collected by the CMS detector during the 2012 proton-proton running of the LHC. Two final state signatures, one containing two high pT muons and at least two jets, and the other containing one high pT muon, two or more jets and significant missing transverse energy are considered. Second generation scalar leptoquarks with masses less than 1070 (785) GeV are excluded for β=1(0.5), where β is the branching fraction of a leptoquark to a charged lepton and a quark.
