J/psi and psi(2S) prompt double-differential cross sections in pp collisions at 7 TeV | ||

Abstract: The double-differential cross sections of the promptly-produced J/ψ and ψ(2S) mesons, in transverse momentum, pT, and absolute rapidity, |y|, are measured in pp collisions at √s=7\,TeV, using a dimuon sample collectedby CMS in 2011, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 4.9\,fb−1. The results are based on a two-dimensional analysis of the dimuon invariant mass and decay length, and cover a broad pT range, extending from 15 to 120\,GeV in the J/ψ case and to 100\,GeV in the ψ(2S) case, when integrated in the |y|<1.2 window. | ||
