Abstract: Measurements are presented for the measurements of the differential and double differential Drell-Yan cross section using anintegrated luminosity of .5$~fb$^{-1}$ (dimuon) and .8$~fb$^{-1}$ (dielectron) of proton-proton collision data recorded with the CMS detector at the LHC at $\sqrt{s} = 7$~TeV. The cross sections $d\sigma/dM$ are measured in the mass range $~GeV to $~GeV for the dimuon, dielectron, and combined channels. Results are also presented on the measurement of the double-differential cross section $d^2\sigma/dMdY$ in the dimuon channel. The double-differential cross section measurement is performed over the mass range $~GeV to $~GeV and absolute dimuon rapidity from $ to .4$. The differential cross section measurements are normalized to the $Z$-peak region ( - 120$~GeV) to achieve better accuracy. The measurements are compared to the predictions of perturbative QCD calculations at next-to-leading and next-to-next-to-leading order using various sets of parton distribution functions. | ||
