Measurement of inclusive jet nuclear modification factor in pPb collisions at sqrtsNN=5.02 TeV with CMS
Abstract: The inclusive jet transverse momentum (pT) spectra at mid- and forward pseudorapidities are presented for pPb collisions at sNN= .02TeV.Thedatasamplecorrespondingtoanintegratedluminosityof35~\mathrm{nb}^{-1}~wascollectedwiththeCMSdetectorattheLHC.ToevaluatethenucleareffectsinjetproductionthenuclearmodificationfactorR_{pPb}isstudiedinseveralpseudorapiditybinsbydividingthepPbjetspectrameasuredat\sqrt{s_{NN}}~ =~.02 TeV by pp reference spectra obtained by extrapolation based on CMS measurements in pp collisions at s=7 TeV. A moderate enhancement is observed in RpPb at low pT in all the η ranges. To quantify the η dependence of jet production, the ratio of inclusive jet yields between equivalent backward and forward center-of-mass pseudorapidity ranges are presented as a function of jet pT. No significant asymmetry is observed within the measured pseudorapidity range.
